May 28, 1929-June 19, 2008

Pat Hoberg died peacefully in her sleep at home in the early morning hours of June 19, 2008. She had faced with grace and strength the last 7 months of her life while living with inoperable abdominal cancer, with Bob by her side. She was 79.

Pat was born May 28, 1929, in Portland. Her father was a traveling salesman for car parts. They moved nearly every year of her childhood and she changed schools every year. During World War II they moved to Vancouver, where she graduated from Vancouver High School. (She kept in touch with VHS graduates all these years.)

In 1951 Pat graduated from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, and that year she met Bob Hoberg. 57 years of marriage produced three daughters, Gayle DeRosia (husband, Art), Terry (died Aug. 24, 1973), and Jani Hicks (husband, Jeff); three grandchildren, Terry Debruge (husband, Armand), Erin DeRosia and Chris Hicks; and one great-grandson, Julien Debruge.

Pat and Bob moved to Oswego in May 1951. They found a place to spend their lives.

Pat was a true friend as witnessed by her high school and college buddies. Bob and Pat were great traveling companions as well, biking through the US and Europe. There were also many ski trips.

A private graveside service has been held at Riverview Cemetery. Pat is at rest beside Terry. As she requested there will be a get-together for family and friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 16 at the Oswego Lake Country Club. Please come and share memories of Pat.

All her friends were of great comfort to her throughout her life. The family wishes to thank all for the support of visits, care, letters, and phone calls.
