According to the 1900 Federal Census for District 40, Portland, Multnomah, Oregon, Claus was listed as born in April of 1870 which could be a mistake, it also listed that he emigrated in 1882 and he was working as a bartender. The family was listed as living at 327 Glison, Portland, Oregon. Skildes 1904In the 1930 U.S. Census, Annie is listed as Annie, born in September of 1876, birthplace of herself, father, and mother is Norway, immigrated in 1884. I sent for a copy of Claus and Annie's Marriage Registration from Multnomah County, Oregon. It states that Claus Hogberg and Annie Lund were married on 21 September 1897 at the house of Emil Nelson by Rev. John W. Skans of the Swedish Lutheran Immanuel Church.Their witnesses were Nels Larson and Annie Brown. I have a copy of Ethel's obituary. It says Ethel was born 27 March 1900 in Portland. On the other hand, Ethel is listed on the 1930 Census (05 June) as being born in March of 1898 and is 2 years old. So, the date Ethel was born is in conflict. Also, in Ethel's obituary, Ann is sited as Mrs. Anna Carol Upson.Yes, Ann's address is: Ann Upson 4408 S. Lake Ave. Caldwell, ID 83605 U.S.A.I think at one time Ann told me that you have to be sure and put the "S" before Lake Ave., or it gets sent someplace else. Ann's husband is listed as Jimmy in his obituary, so I don't know if he was a Jim. He had already died by the time I met Ann, so I never knew him, but he was on staff at our church and everyone speaks very highly of him.I guess that's all for now. Do you think that Gayle and Ann have talked on the phone?
