Nerja,
a small charming town
at Costa del Sol
|
|
Just before the approach to Nerja you will
be met of a monument or some kind of
memorial portal...sooner or later we shall find out what it
is (!)...
Nerja is situated about 50 kilometer east of Málaga and
is one of the few small village wich is untouched and no skyscraper
and it is located to Costa del Sol.
The
total population varying from 10-15000 at the winter and maybe
threefold under the high season as july-august! The most came
period at Costa del Sol is september, when we Swedes still talking
about summer, most of the tourist has leave Nerja and Costa
del Sol, temperature is more attractive and the water is warm.

Europes
balcony, "Balcón de Europa" as the name is in
Spanish, is situated at a rock (cliff) ledge high over the sea
and nearby is the beautiful church
"El Salvador" it was builded up at
1600th and 1700th century. And what is more natural, people
get together to take a couple of tea, coffee or why not a glass
of wine! And look at the wonderful view over Mediterranean!
|
|
|
"Restaurante
Sevillano", one of hundreds small restaurants and it swarms
of in Nerjas alleys. Nice only to take a seat outside at the
pavement and take a cold beer or a glass of wine! If you want
to go inside you shall be kindly favourably received, a splendid
furnishing and cosy restaurante, came and nice and you will
be met with kind treatment, good food and drinks raise the spirits
more.
A visit recommended!

At the hillside
at the mountain spreads the small white houses as small lumps
of sugar!, builded in old genuine spanish style with narrows
allay where all cartraffic are not allowed! This village
El Capistrano
was builded up in the middle of 1970 |
|
|
The village
has its owns pool with three different sections for adults and
more suitable pool for the children. Inside the territory you
have stores,
restaurante, dry-cleaners, yes in principle self-supporting
so you don´t have to leave the territory...you can sit
on the roof terrace take a glass of wine, champ one's fresh
grapes, biscuit or just any peanuts and enjoy the wonderful
view over the Mediterranean! |
|
Nerja
can on the
day looks complete uninhabiteds, the siesta reminds you between
1PM to 5PM, bars are oftens open, fortunate for the family Hogberg's!
As here at Luis Bar
a snugs place. |
|
In
the pass we called Luis for "The chicken-fellow" the
simple reason was he has a barbecue with nice chicken outside
his little restaurante, as at that time was situated cross the
street. Luis has still a berbecue with nice chicken... |
|
On
of the small streets as are deserted under the siesta
hours, it´s easy to make the right choiche...
the shadow side of the pavement is always right...
|
The playa
are a special section, if you want you can spend your time at
the playa near the town with many people but you can also go
away a few kilometer west of Nerja at Málaga. We found

Cortés Gonzalés with family!

A
restaurante as the whole working, from kids to grandma.... there
is often many people around 2-3PM, so if you want a table we
recommended you to reserve a table in time. Amongst the most
wonderful Mama Carmen can made is what we called "Pil
Pil", if that is the correct name in Spanish we don´t
know but we get it (!) It is deep-fries shrimps with a lot of
garlic, served in a pot, mm! It is extremly hot when you get
it, you must handle it with extreme care so you don´t pour
(tip) out! Wait a few minute before you start to eat it until
it has cool down a little. At the playa we used to mix redwine
with lemonade "La Casera", as the name is in Spanish, and it
is very refreshing in the heat, who want´s "Heat-Stroke"(!)...
The daughters to Carmen and José, Marie
Carmen and Mari Nieves assist
to take orders and serving the food from the very beginning
in the morning to late evening! And something you must try and
taste very good is theres "Sardinas"
as be served as bamboo-skewer! Try even theres "Almejas"
small clams as swimming in garlic and persil. Yes, what is not
good at
the "Mama Carmens kitchen" and
"José Cortés Gonzalés" |
¡Aproveche!

¡Bon Appétit!

To wind up this little presentation

There's no doubt about it!!!! It
is worth a visit!!!!
